In the midst of Nigeria’s ongoing struggle with fuel scarcity, the precarious situation has put over nine thousand oil marketers at risk of losing their crucial operating licenses.
In response to this imminent threat, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is urgently appealing to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for an extension of the deadline for license renewal. They propose extending the deadline until July, providing a lifeline for these marketers to navigate through the challenging circumstances.
Furthermore, IPMAN is actively advocating for the prompt release of the nine thousand already processed licenses by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Authority. This step is seen as essential to alleviate the mounting pressure faced by its members and ensure continuity in the oil marketing sector.
These appeals were formally communicated in a statement issued by Chief CHINEDU UKADIKE, the National Public Relations Officer of IPMAN, underscoring the urgency and importance of addressing the pressing concerns of oil marketers in Nigeria.
